The health and safety of patients and attendants is the primary concern in healthcare settings, particularly hospitals. This is especially applicable for patients admitted to the hospitals for an inpatient procedure. Whether it be an emergency or a scheduled procedure, the individual circumstances of each individual are evaluated for their healthcare needs and safety concerns.
Patients, visitors, and staff need to wear a mask in healthcare settings. Additionally, hospitals have hand sanitisers available for everyone who enters the building and throughout the facility. Attendants need to make sure to sanitise their hands after every patient encounter
All patients and visitors are screened for COVID-19 at the facility. Patients admitted to hospitals are also tested for COVID-19. Based on the test results, further care is planned. Patients should discuss with their healthcare provider the guidelines they need to follow before and during their visit to the hospital.
