Who decides on the course of treatment?
Our team is always willing to provide the necessary counselling to patients and families. If the baby has breathing troubles, an endotracheal tube will be placed in the airway to help the baby breathe. An intravenous line will be required if the baby cannot take breast milk or formula, for preventing dehydration. Our team will provide you with necessary updates throughout the process. Our fetal medicine specialists will assess the situation and then run a course of treatment to ensure that you and your baby are safe, healthy and out of danger. In high-risk pregnancies, our specialists will be prepared according to the risk factor. Can the baby be breastfed?
Yes, breast feeding is always encouraged. The antibodies and nutrients in breast milk help with the growth and development of newborns. You may need to pump your breast milk and store it in the freezer before it is time for the baby to take the milk.
